FCOS Tags
FranchiCzar OS has a built-in feature to add hashtags, or tags for short, to any record (e.g. Leads and Customers). Using tags allows you to quickly search for records corresponding to any tag you added. This comes in handy when you have hundreds or even thousands of records to sift through to highlight information like birthdays (#junebirthday), interests (#videogames), and/or language preferences (#spanish).
Using Tags
Adding tags to an FCOS record is accomplished via their General Information page or the general record listings page. Once added, these tags are searchable but to make sure any tag added is visible from any of the various record listing pages (e.g. "Leads" or "Customers" pages) you need to enable the "Tags" column.
Don't worry if this all sounds a bit complicated but, this article breaks down the process, step-by-step. Let's get started...
Where are we Adding Tags?
First, let's decide where we are adding a tag(s). One of the most commonly used areas to use tags is with Leads so, let's start there. Expand the "Customers" menu (left side) and click on Leads. Below we outline the two avenues for adding tags to "Multiple Records" and a "Single Record".
Multiple Record Tagging
First, let's go through how to tag multiple or all your Lead records.
Step 1: Tagging Multiple Records
From the "Customer Leads" listing page, use the far left column, the circle, to select any number of records you would like to modify. To select all the records displayed click the circle within the title row.
Step 2: Editing Your Selected Records
With your selections made, navigate to the top right of the screen and click the button. This launches a modal to execute a "Bulk action" on your selected records.
Step 3: Performing 'Bulk Action' on Records
Within this modal, click the circle (next to "Add a tag") and provide a tag for these items. Click OK to confirm and apply.
Step 4: View or Search Tags
Nice! You added a tag but, how do we view and/or utilize it? There are two useful ways to utilize your tags right from your Leads or Customers list,
to make the "Tags" column visible or to use the "Filter by Tag" search bar. Let's take a look at both of these options.
Step 4a: Viewing the Tags Column
Click on the Configure Columns icon from the toolbar (image below) in the top right. From this window, simply click the box next to Tags and close the window to apply. The "Tags" column is now added to this view.
Step 4b: Using the 'Filer by Tag' Search
Your other option is to use the "Filter by Tag" search bar. Just click into the search bar and type out a tag or tags to filter your view.
Single Record Tagging
Let's go through the process of tagging a single record.
You Have Options…
Feel free to use the method outlined above for tagging a single record. What follows is a method for tagging within a record's General Information page.
Step 1: Opening a Record
Just as in the previous process, let's start from the "Customer Leads" listing page. Select any record, by clicking directly on their name.
Step 2: Inserting Tagging Field
Now that we are on this record's General Information page, navigate to the top center of the page and select the Add tag icon from the Quick Actions bar. This inserts a tagging bar into the record.
Step 3: Adding a Tag
Within this bar, type in the desired tag or select one you have already used and hit enter to apply.
Step 4: View or Search Tags
